Questions we get
Answered plainly.
Sometimes. Voluntary registration lets you recover input tax, which helps if your customers are VAT-registered businesses and your costs carry VAT. It also creates a filing obligation, so it is a trade rather than a free win.
A voluntary disclosure, if the error is above the threshold. Correcting it yourself carries a far smaller penalty than the FTA finding it, and the disputes desk handles the filing.
