What it covers

What the engagement covers

A classification that is convenient at the border can be expensive at the audit. We take the position we can defend in both places.

Ask what applies to you
  • HS code classification review
  • Customs valuation positions
  • Duty exemption and suspension claims
  • Free zone and mainland movement treatment
  • Customs audit and query support
  • Alignment with VAT and excise treatment

Who it is for

Three situations this is built for

  • Regular importers

Enough declarations that a wrong code repeats hundreds of times before anyone checks.

  • Free zone to mainland movers

Movements that change the duty and VAT position at the same moment.

  • Anyone facing a customs query

A question already raised, where the answer sets the treatment going forward.

How it runs

Three stages, start to finished

  1. Review

    Shipment review

We take a sample of declarations and check the codes and values actually used.

  2. Work

    Position paper

A written classification and valuation position per product, with the authority cited.

  3. Close

    Correction

Where past declarations were wrong, we file the correction and handle the queries.

Not included

What the fee does not cover

Listed because a scope is only clear when both halves are written down. Each of these is available; none is assumed.

  • Clearing agent or broker services
  • Physical inspection attendance
  • Duty payment on your behalf
  • Product certification or standards approval

Questions we get

Answered plainly.

A broker is paid to clear the shipment, not to defend the code three years later. The two goals usually agree, but when they do not, the liability sits with the importer.

Yes. Import VAT is calculated on the customs value plus duty, so a valuation change moves both numbers. That is why we review them together rather than in sequence.
